What are Dolch Nouns?
If you are new to sight word instruction, you should begin by understanding this list of words.
Dolch sight words are a list first created by Dr. Edward William Dolch in the 1930s and 1940s. This list contains sight words similar to Fry words but also includes nouns that are common in our language.
The nouns that are a part of the 95 Dolch words create their own list – known as the Dolch Nouns.
One thing that I like about the Dolch nouns is that you can match a picture with the word which can aid students in learning to read these sight words.
