Why are mazes good for children?

Many children find mazes to be a fun activity but did you know that they also offer benefits?

First of all, they help children work on their fine motor skills. Children must hold a pencil and move in between the lines without bumping into the edges.

Second, they help children develop problem solving skills. As mazes get more difficult, children work on finding solutions and their way to the end of the images.

They also help children work on hand-eye coordination. The brain and eyes have to work together to tell the hand where to move in order to stay on the path.

So while students love completing mazes, there are also many benefits.

And if your children enjoy working on these puzzles, they might also be offering an opportunity for children to have a little break from work. They might not realize that completing a maze is actually giving their brain a little work out.
