These reading mazes: ending digraph paths will be a fun addition to your word work and phonics resources for practicing words ending with digraphs.
I’m receiving many requests for more phonics mazes – I will continue working on adding new sets.
Children think of mazes as a type of game so adding a maze to your word work can make it seem like more fun than work!
This specific set of phonics mazes focuses on ending digraph words.
Unsure of what digraphs are? Start here! (If you already know, skip to the end for your free download.)
If you do not know, ending digraph words end with two letters that make a new sound. Some pages contain trigraphs which are three letters that make one sound. The words in these pages end with ch, ck, dge, ng, sh, tch and th.
If you are looking to work on these along with beginning digraphs, you might want to download this set as well: Beginning Digraph Paths.
There are a total of 7 pages for students to use when practicing their phonics skills.
Along with the directions identifying the digraph each page focuses on, you will also find a picture clue that contains the digraph..
To complete the task, students will start at the top picture and color the first square. Children will then find the path by coloring the noted digraph words. Their goal is to reach the picture at the end of the maze.
Students simply need a crayon, colored pencil or marker to play.
