Examples of these words are fair, hear, deer and heir.
These are words that students in second grade might be ready to work on. Some are tricky to spell! It can be difficult for students to remember which words have an eer and an ear.
Looking for a way to practice these words before using the worksheets? It might be helpful to have a child choose four words and then illustrate the word.
Or, you can give your child a list of words and they can sort them using the letter combination found in each word.
I have had a few requests from speech therapists looking for worksheets to help with r articulation. As a SLP, these worksheets can assist you when working on vocalic r sounds.

These pages might fit into your second or third grade word work practice. Your first grade readers may not be ready for these combinations yet. Of course, if you have children who are ready, go ahead and share with them!
