Getting started
In my classroom, I like to introduce the words by providing students with the cards in small group. Without any resources, I have them talk and sort out the words they are sure they know. Within groups, they are usually able to get down to the last few words.
We then discuss what clues are in the word parts or definitions that might help us.
We then check the words together.
There are two versions of the vocabulary quiz. I use the second for some of my special education and ELL students.
