Ready to work on individual letters and letter sounds? Be sure to begin by offering your students hands-on and engaging practice.
Before students begin working with paper and pencil, allow them to form the letter.
Have them work in pairs or groups of three – encourage them to form a lowercase or uppercase letter i.
They can also trace letters on a desktop covered in shaving cream.
You might give children a basket of letter tiles. Have them search to find the letter i in the basket. This also works with letter magnets.
